Geary's Bakery and Enterprise Centre start on site at Optimus

The construction of Geary's Bakery 61,730 sq ft factory unit and a 10,000 sq ft Enterprise Centre (consisting of 7 small units retained by Wilson Bowden Developments) has started on site at Optimus Point.
Geary's Bakery, which still hand cuts all its loaves, has seen a big increase in sales on the back of a long-standing contract with value supermarket Aldi.
The factory will be used to bake Geary's open-topped bread and a selection of rolls, all of which use longer fermenting periods to create a distinctive taste. The new site will enable Geary's to make one million loaves and five million rolls a week, twice its current capacity.
The company has 150 staff at its existing factory and the new bakery will create around 50 jobs over the next two to three years.Work has also started on the 10,000 Enterprise Centre, which comprises of 7 small industrial / warehouse units together with all associated parking, servicing and landscaping.
These units will be targeted at small to medium size businesses, which completion anticipated for Summer 2017.
